Description

On their fifth studio album (and their fifth consecutive US Gold Award) Morrison Hotel, The Doors returned to their origins and were reborn as a rock'n'roll band. Completed in just a few weeks and released in February 1970, the hard-boiled album took its title from the run-down hotel downtown Los Angeles, which can also be seen on the iconic cover photo of Henry Diltz.

To celebrate the album's 50th anniversary, Rhino is checking into the Morrison Hotel once again, with a 2-CD/1-LP set that will be available on October 9. MORRISON HOTEL: 50TH ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION includes the original album in the new mastering by The Doors' longtime sound engineer and mixer Bruce Botnick plus a bonus disc of unreleased studio outtakes and the original album on 180g Virgin Vinyl.
