Don Van Stavern explains: "The plan of the producers was that there would be a lot of well-known guest musicians playing on the record. We thought that was okay. We could still live with the decision to add a horn section to expand the sound. What didn't work, however, were these long intros between the songs, which were later added in the studio in New York.""Riot Archives Vol.4" presents the original versions of the material (recorded in San Antonio, Texas) without the aforementioned subsequent changes.
