Devilicious The Esoteric Playground

2012, This Swedish hard rock machine has been stomping holes since their inception in 2005. Originally more of a stoner rock band with some of their earlier EP's, however with the release of their first LP, THE ASYLUM GOSPELS, Devilicious showed a move towards the more straight forward hard rock sound. Continuing in that same hard rock sound with THE ESOTERIC PLAYGROUND we are treated to twelve Jack soaked songs that are certainly aiming at starting rock party somewhere. Fans of hard rock acts Alabama Thunderpussy, Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Dozer, and Orange Goblin may want to give these guys a spin. While not as stoner as some on the aforementioned list, Devilicious show us that they are unafraid to play hard rock with all the attitude of those before them. This album is great fun that just doesn't have a whole lot going on that differentiates itself from others.
