"Welcome to Hell" is the first studio album by the English metal band Venom . The album was originally released in December 1981 via Neat Records, at a time when the New Wave of the British heavy metal movement was just peaking. The music on "Welcome to Hell" is often described as speed metal, but had a great influence on the then new thrash metal style and combined many elements of death and black metal. "Welcome to Hell" also contributed significantly to the development of extreme metal. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary, the limited Splatter Vinyl Edition with an embossed sleeve, a reproduction of the original lyric bag and a poster.
