Trout, Walter Survivor Blues

At the end of January 2019, blues legend Walter Trout returns with a very special cover album.

Survivor Blues" was recorded with producer Eric Corne in Los Angeles, in the studio of former The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, who has a guest appearance on "Goin' Down To The River". The band to be heard here consists of Walter Trout, bassist Johnny Griparic, Skip Edwards on keyboards and drummer Michael Leasure. It was the declared goal of all involved not to play the blues traditionals note by note, but to bring them up to a contemporary level in the unmistakable Trout style. The idea for the album's title came from Walter Trout's wife and manager Marie - he ambiguously alludes both to the song material represented on the album and to Trout's personal destiny, which with a lot of luck turned out to be good. Walter Trout himself sums it up with a twinkle in his eye: "My career runs like clockwork, my children are fine, Marie and I love each other like on the first day, and with my health everything is fine. All in all, it looks like I'm having the best time of my life."
