Description

Anyone who is halfway familiar with Walter Trout's career and personal destiny knows that the blues and rock guitarist has experienced and achieved more in the course of his more than half-century career, but has also had to cope with much worse things than most of his guild. The now 69-year-old American first made a name for himself with John Lee Hooker, Canned Heat and in John Mayall's band before he released more than twenty records under his own name in 1990 and has toured tirelessly ever since. The most serious break for Troutbisher came in the form of an incurable liver disease, which he only survived in 2014 thanks to a donor-funded organ transplant. Literally reborn and at the height of his artistry as an instrumentalist as well as a songwriter, Walter Trout presented the subsequent albums "Battle Scars" (2015) and "We're All in ThisTogether" (2017). Most recently, on the longplayer "Survivor Blues" (2019), he interpreted a number of hitherto rarely heard genre classics by artists such as Jimmy Dawkins, Sunnyland Slim, Otis Rush, Luther Johnson, J.B. Lenoir, Hound Dog Taylor and Mississippi Fred McDowell. "Survivor Blues" reached the top of the Billboard Blues Charts and was named best blues album of the year by Classic Rock magazine. This summer, the time has come to release more of Trout's own material: His new album "Ordinary Madness" will be released on August 28, 2020 on CD, digital and as a double LP with the Mascot Label Group. The eleven tracks on the album were recorded with producer Eric Corne in Los Angeles, in the studio of former The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger. The band on "Ordinary Madness" consists of Walter Trout himself, bassist Johnny Griparic, Teddy Andreadis on keyboards and drummer Michael Leasure. Besides Trout's son Jon, the US singer Teeny Tucker, Skip Edwards (steel guitar), Drake "Munkihaid" Shining (keyboards) and Anthony Grisham (guitar) are guest musicians.
