The band's musical virtuosity confirmed their place in the hard rock pantheon at a time when global perceptions of women were indeed, and fortunately, changing rapidly. Vixen's performances demonstrated that women could bring musical endeavors and easily compete with the male rock stars. Based in Los Angeles in the late '80s, the band signed to EMI Records and released their debut in 1988, which quickly went gold and allowed them to tour extensively. Buoyed by this success, the band returned to the studio to record 'Rev It Up' which was produced by Randy Nicklaus (Shark Island) and released in July 1990. It is now available as a quality revised CD reissue via Rock Candy.
