Description

"LORD OF THE LOST deliver a brilliant conclusion to their captivating album trilogy with OPVS NOIR Vol. 3. A direct sequel to OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, both released in 2025, the final installment of the trilogy will be released on April 10, 2026, via Napalm Records. Stylistically, OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 ventures further beyond the boundaries of its two predecessors, reinforcing the genre-crossing credo to which the Hamburg-based band has dedicated itself. The sextet closes the latest chapter of their career with an exhilarating climax, amidst walls of guitars and dark electronica, with emotional messages and cinematic orchestral sounds.

Eleven more compelling tracks expand the band's catalog with OPVS NOIR Vol. 3. After the gripping BLOOD & GLITTER took them to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and to the top of the German album charts, LORD OF THE LOST once again demonstrate their extraordinary talent." Versatility. Introduced by delicate cello melodies, "Kill The Lights" serves as an overture, creating the necessary atmospheric and dark mood, preparing for the energetic release that follows in "I'm A Diamond," a collaboration with SALTATIO MORTIS that offers a deep look into the emotional world of frontmen Chris and Alea. "My Funeral" unexpectedly represents perhaps the album's most positive message, contrasting sharply with its somber title. Into this sonic landscape, LORD OF THE LOST weave tongue-in-cheek lyrics that define black as a "happy color" and pink as the new color of mourning. The club stomper "I Hate People" brings horror-punk icon WEDNESDAY 13 to the microphone for an industrial duet about equality, before the gentle "The Shadows Within," with its symphonic arrangements, returns to the emotional depths of the OPVS NOIR world. Chris Harms and outgoing Kissin' Dynamite singer Hannes Braun then join forces for the French-language duet "La Vie Est Hell," based on Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal. "Square One" is followed by "When Did The Love Break," a moving song about irretrievably lost love; XANDRIA's distinctive voice, Ambre Vourvahis, lends additional depth to this pain. After "Your Love Is Colder Than Death," Lord of the Lost team up with Damien Edwards of British glam-rock band Cats in Space for "Take Me Far Away," before OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 concludes with the ambient ballad "The Days Of Our Lives." Never before have LORD OF THE LOST come so close to an electronic-classical film soundtrack hybrid - and without a happy ending, one might almost suspect a farewell...

OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 continues LORD OF THE LOST's unpredictable journey, refusing to settle for familiar paths. Completing the impressive trilogy, the album takes you by the hand and reliably accompanies you through the darkest hours.
