Description

Leslie West, one of the most important, influential and irreplaceable guitarists of the rock era, passed away in December 2020. At that time Leslie had planned an album as a retrospective of his music, on which the guitarist himself would perform some of his most popular pieces with renowned guests, along with some new pieces. Unfortunately, this did not happen. Instead, however, his many friends and colleagues got together and recorded a tribute album in his honor. An amazing number of West's admirers - who were also friends and colleagues - came together to celebrate the groundbreaking musician with the aptly titled "Legacy: A Tribute to Leslie West." Produced by Jenni West, Bob Ringe and John Lappen, the album features wonderful interpretations by Slash, Zakk Wylde, Dee Snider, Bachman & Bachman, Martin Barre, Joe Lynn Turner, Charlie Starr, Elliot Easton, Robbie Krieger, Mike Portnoy, Eddie Ojeda, George Lynch, Marty Friedman, Steve Morse and Yngwie Malmsteen, to name a few. Each track on its own is a blast, but taken together, the 12 tracks on 'Legacy: A Tribute to Leslie West' are an impressive and heartfelt testament to the true influence the guitarist had on musicians of all stripes, and as such, it's a must-have for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
