Dokken The Lost Songs: 1978-1981

On August 28, Silver Lining Music will release 11 brilliant gems from the vaults of Don Dokken under the title "The Lost Songs": "The Lost Songs: 1978-1981 . It was during these crucial years that a young, motivated Dokken from Southern California came to the Media Arts Studio in Redondo Beach to drop off some unfiltered, unpasteurized rock 'n' roll songs. He then took them to Hamburg, Germany, where Dokken (influenced by bands like the Scorpions) formed a historic alliance with a young German producer named Michael Wagener, who later helped produce million-selling albums for bands like Motley Crüe, Metallica and Skid Row, as well as Dokken.

From the sun-tanned SoCal-Hook of "Step Into The Light" to the wild sunset strip sound of "Back In The Streets", "The Lost Songs: 1978-1981", Dokken shows the uninhibited early days of the ball-out attitude and once again proves the songwriter's skills that made him an international rock'n'roll star with over 10 million albums sold. Other tracks like "Felony" carry a coarse, fuzz-covered riff - think of the early Van Halen in greasy, embroidered jeans - while "Day After Day" shows that Dokken can also play radio-destructive ballads could write.
