Coronatus Dreadful Waters

Water has always been a symbol of the unknown, the deep, the dangerous, but also of creation and life. Most of the songs on Dreadful Waters revolve around this element, primarily in connection with its more menacing aspects.

Thus, Dreadful Waters thematically continues the exploration of threats of various kinds, which were already addressed in a more ethereal setting on its predecessor, "Atmosphere," but this time shifted more towards the seas and oceans. Musically, the range is once again very broad, offering occasional forays into genres new to the band, which has become a hallmark of Coronatus' songwriting. However, the main focus remains the tried-and-tested symbiosis of symphonic and metal. It's worth noting that Dreadful Waters not only features songs written by Mats Kurth, but also two tracks by the other band members, Nemesis and Harry.


Musically, the album's range is once again very broad, offering occasional excursions into genres new to the band, which has become a hallmark of Coronatus' songwriting. The new and already 11th album from the German symphonic/gothic metal pioneers
