2014, Now, almost a year after the release of RECREATIO CARMINIS, Coronatus are back with nine brand new and powerful songs! The album title, CANTUS LUCIDUS, says it all, because ´Lucidus` means something like shining/full of light/clear and ´Cantus` can roughly be translated to chants/music. Soprano Carmen Lorch with her classically trained opera-like voice and the rock voice of Anny Maleyes are taking care of the radiant vocals on the album. Maleyes has already worked as professional singer in other bands and projects, mostly in cover bands, though. The songs on CANTUS LUCIDUS are a lot straighter and heavier than the ones on the previous, more symphonic-oriented albums. But the album still features a lot of bombast and folk elements, that's for sure. Complex rhythms, driving guitars and sophisticated keyboard arrangements add the typical Coronatus touch to the melodic vocal lines. So this album is once again a typical and original Coronatus release with a high recognition value! Digipack.
