On their last album "Hurricanes And Halos" AVATARIUM had turned to vintage rock and trusted in catchy melodies - but now, two years later, the group, once founded by Leif Edling (CANDLEMASS), is back with a new longplayer and dedicates itself completely to their Doom roots again. Of course not, without paying homage to rock legends like The Doors or Dio, who can be found in Marcus Jidell's passionate guitar solos. However, the main focus is still on Jennie-Ann Smith's blues voice, which transfers every imaginable mood into the music between joy and sorrow. These two have now become the main songwriter duo, while Edling is more in the background. Nevertheless, the essence of the band is still the same and with catchy tunes like 'Rubicon' or the dance-happy 'Shake That Demon' AVATARIUM go into the fourth round of their career, give foreign worlds a soundtrack and make reality disappear with their mystical and sometimes mysterious lyrics. Like the Loreley, Jennie-Ann Smith could easily drive Schiffer out of her mind with her voice and bring her to a happy death. - Eva Kerrigan
