On 13 October 1986 Saxon released their eighth studio album "Rock The Nations". The recording took place in the Dutch Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum under the direction of Gary Lyons. Biff Byford, who happened to have started his career as a singing bass player, recorded all the bass tracks on the album, but Paul Johnson is listed on the album as the bassist who, shortly before its release, was invited to the I got on the band. An unusual guest represented on Rock The Nations can be found in Elton John, who plays piano on "Northern Lady" and "Party Til You Puke". This version includes radio edits of the singles, some live B-sides and three tracks recorded by the BBC on Saxon's set at the 86th Reading Festival.
CD released in 24-page Mediabook, vinyl first edition in Tri-Color (red, white, blue).
