Tyr Battle Ballads

The follow-up to 2019's powerful progressive folk metal album "Hel" is aptly named "Battle Ballads" - a crushing, sonorous mix of classically embellished songs that conjure images of galloping horses, clashing swords and hard-fought victories. With "Battle Ballads" Týr have created an album that is imbued with their typical Viking metal sound. At the same time, the band has experimented with new songwriting and other musical techniques, creating songs that are structurally simpler but more musically diverse. For Heri Joensen (Vocal & Guitar) it is a clear sign that he wants to continue breaking new ground in the future while remaining true to the spirit of thundering Viking Metal.
