Tyr A Night at the Nordic House LIVE

TÝR delivers a stunning show performed live with the Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra. This special event was recorded on February 8, 2020 at The Nordic House in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. The earth-shaking live album will be available March 18, 2022 on Metal Blade Records on 2-LP (gatefold, with insert, poster, digital download), a 2-CD/DVD digi-book set with 12-page booklet and wherever digital music is sold.

"Working with the symphony orchestra was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our career," admits vocalist Heri Joensen. "The sense of sheer, demanding power behind us was extraordinarily uplifting. We were impressed with how well the songs worked in a symphonic setting. 'By The Sword In My Hand,' for example, seems to take on a new life. It's based on a traditional Norse melody, and the lyrics are about Sigmundur Brestisson, a Faroese Viking chieftain who forcibly Christianized the Faroe Islands on behalf of Norway's King Olaf. We are very excited to finally release a live DVD, CD and LP, and even with the incredible new artwork by Gyula Havancsák, which does a great job of capturing the epic atmosphere of the event.
