Description

Mothers of Thunder: Anything Men Can Do, They Can Do Just as Well--If Not Better!

Swedish hard rock queens THUNDERMOTHER are set to release their studio debut via Napalm Records: *Mothers of Thunder* arrives on February 5, 2027. The band's seventh album proves that these leading ladies of the genre possess everything their male counterparts bring to the table--and then some! It's rock 'n' roll defined by gritty riffs and cheeky lyrics, with an intensity that practically begs for an energetic live setting--a domain in which THUNDERMOTHER have long proven their mastery. Beyond supporting legends like the Scorpions and Judas Priest, the four musicians have graced the stages of festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, and Sweden Rock, and in 2026, they released their first live album, *Live'n'Alive*. Now, they are ready to usher in a new era: *Mothers of Thunder* serves as both a dynamic source of empowerment for women and a high-octane, exhilarating experience for everyone else.

The self-referential title track, "Mothers of Thunder," is an ode to all women--an invitation to join THUNDERMOTHER on their wild ride. Calling out to mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, and wives, the Swedish rockers use this sharp, punchy track to pave the way for those who own the future. "Restless" stands as another manifesto of emancipation; vocalist Linnéa Vikström Egg teams up with her father, Thomas Vikström of THERION, for a song that plays out like a father-daughter debate. With parental concern on one side and a youthful quest for freedom on the other, the track--fueled by their genuine familial bond--is as authentic as it gets. Next up, "Time Is Never Wasted (When You're Wasted All The Time)" gifts *Mothers of Thunder* an instant classic--a track best played at high volume in clubs, pubs, or during long drives--while "Front Row Bangers" harks back to the aforementioned live shows. This sing-along anthem is dedicated to passionate fans and the love they show the band; with the heartfelt line, "We do the show, but you're the stars," THUNDERMOTHER underscore the vital importance of fan support. The bluesy, mid-tempo track "The Wet Blues" tackles desire and loneliness with unvarnished honesty, continuing the Swedish band's successful streak of consistently delivering hits anchored by powerful vocals. "Stalker" then hits with extra weight: carrying an unsettling, Wild West-inspired vibe, the song explores a harsh reality of womanhood--from the perspective of the perpetrator. With "Bimbo Boost," the quartet returns to the roots of their genre, only to flip them on their head: THUNDERMOTHER play the iconic riff from Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" in reverse, while the lyrics address the pressures placed on female artists--specifically the expectation to always look perfect on stage, a demand rarely imposed on their male counterparts. "Get Up" serves as another empowerment anthem for women, while "Perfectly Miserable" provides exactly the kind of slower-paced track (though not quite a ballad!) that every solid rock album needs. The question posed in "Do I Need A Doctor" is easily answered by the song's own infectious energy, and the raw "Dirty Word" follows suit. Finally, "Shake Your Money Maker" infuses *Mothers of Thunder* with a feel-good, summery vibe. With their seventh album, THUNDERMOTHER rise as rock goddesses--the radiance of *Mothers of Thunder* effortlessly outshines their peers in the genre. The future belongs to THUNDERMOTHER.
