Description

-In the rich history of Chicago's heavy metal scene, the name of RUNNER may be seen as a footnote in the annals of that city's impressive roster. Starting life during 1985, playing covers of Priest and Maiden songs, their original material took a turn for the melodic in '86 as they chased a more commercial sound.

- They recorded their debut-album, in 1987, but a fateful crash involving their original lead singer saw him getting jailed and the band re-recording all his vocals with a new singer, the more Metal oriented Tony Palumbo. By this time, the band had signed to US label Rock Hard Records, but the label lost interest, shelved the album and signed guitarist Sean Colligan new band, Barracuda.
Their debut album, "Open Fire", was released in 1989 and it proved to be a commercial success, with videos on MTV and an heavy touring. So, at that time, in order to recoup money lost on the band Runner, the label decided to release the album, entitled "Falling Hearts".

- The album, released back then on vinyl and also on Cd (although if in a strictly limited edition of 300 copies), and now available in a remastered edition with unseen pics and the story of the band written - as usual - by Rob Evans, is a great piece of melodic Metal, destined to appeal to lovers of Malice, Icon, Leatherwolf and also Queensryche!
