Description
STEELHEART Records is very proud to announce the signing of U.S. band RADIO ACTIVE for its much appreciated "LOST U.S. JEWELS" Series.
RADIO ACTIVE was formed in Los Angeles, CA, by Gail Burt (Bass, Vocals) and Desha Dunnahoe (Keyboard, Vocals), who had previously played together in a band called Tiger Lily.
After having auditioned over 100 singers, Tracey Burns was selected as the lead vocalist for the band, followed by Craig Hubbard on guitar and Bert Drake on drums.
The band started writing songs together and played live at all of the Southern California venues, including Gazzari's, The Whiskey a-Go-Go, Madame Wong's, Club 88, The Viper Club, and The Roxy, before putting together the debut-EP.
The album, called "Over the Edge" was released as a private press during 1987 and featured 5 songs, that can be described as '80s Melodic - Classic Rock and might recall bands like Heart, Pat Benatar and Quarterflash.
Tracey left after the release of the album and she was replaced by a big name of the Rock scene, Cherie Currie, known to be the the lead vocalist of The Runaways from 1975 until 1977.
The band recorded 3 songs with her, but - due to personal and artistic reasons - Radio Active split up some time later.
This CD reissue will feature the "Over The Edge" EP (first time on CD!) plus - as bonus - the three songs recorded with Cherie Currie, that have never been heard before!
And, as usual, a full remastered sound and a rich booklet with liner-notes, pics and the full story of the band.
