Description
He was the voice and frontman of the melodic hardcore icons Ignite, but a closer look at Zoli Téglás reveals much more than that. Besides musical guest appearances with Pennywise and The Misfits, the singer also appears regularly in supporting roles in various Hollywood blockbuster movies. But that's not all: Teglas has been an activist for animal rights and environmental protection for many years. Now he shows another facet of his exciting personality: with Ocean Hills, Zoli has now founded the band he had in mind for a long time. "These songs come from the heart", the singer (who only recently left Ignite after 25 years) brings it to the point. "What you hear on "Santa Monica" is exactly what I wanted to do for so long. As a consequence I left Ignite - to dedicate myself completely to Ocean Hills. It all feels just right and the positive energy that was released euphorizes us. Whatever the future may hold for us, we are ready and looking forward to it", Zoli explains.
Under these circumstances Ocean Hills is a daring venture - a completely new band that has yet to be established. But the conviction is omnipresent and with the experience of countless tours and recording sessions, the new band has an enormous amount of experience. This confidence is reflected in the song material, because the music of Ocean Hills is like a vacation: the easiness and lightness relaxes, lets you reflect and a feeling of wellbeing sets in - and all this without escaping into superficialities or banalities. The subliminal melancholy underlines once again that a lot of heart and soul went into the creation process of "Santa Monica".
