The driving force behind the Finnish Melodic Heavy Metal band MERGING FLARE is guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen, who for four years enriched the sound of U.D.O./Dirkschneider with his tasteful playing.
Heikkinen is currently conquering the metal world as Axeman of Beast in Blackdie Metal; the band toured through arenas with Nightwish at the end of 2018 and subsequently released a highly successful second album (#6 in the German charts and #1 in Finland). The final headliner tour has sold out shows everywhere.
Nevertheless the time was found to finish the long overdue album #2, 'Revolt Regime', (the successor of the 2011 debut album 'Reverence'). From 10.05. everyone can convince themselves of the result: MERGING FLARE has succeeded in producing an album that combines classic heavy metal - as known from bands like Judas Priest, Accept, Running Wild, Helloween and Gamma Ray - with a typical Nordic note (think of Tarot). All band members are rooted in the 80s - and that's what you hear. Speaking of mix and mastering, Mattes Pfeiffer, with whom Heikkinen made the acquaintance in two U.D.O. studio productions, took over. Another metal legend could be won for the mastering: Stefan Kaufmann (ex-Accept).
