The songs on HANG COOL, TEDDY BEAR were inspired by a short story written by Kilian Kerwin. The album is the story of a soldier on the brink of death. Instead of flashing to the past, the injured hero flashes forward. There are difference scenarios and life experiences, but one constant: a certain woman. The album title comes from a line in ,,Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls". HANG COOL, TEDDY BEAR features many guest stars, including guitarists Steve Vai and Brian May and actor Hugh Laurie. Laurie is a classically trained pianist, and he lends a hand on the song ,,If I Can't Have You". ´American Idol` judge Kara DioGuardi also appears on ,,If I Can't Have You", both as a songwriter and singer.
