Description
High Roller Records, reissue 2024, slipcase, Hitten formed in 2011 in Murcia, a city in southeastern Spain (near Alicante). In the same year their first demo called "Darkness Queen" was released. Two EPs and the full album »First Strike With The Devil« (2014) followed before Hitten signed a contract with High Roller Records for the vinyl release of their second album »State Of Shock«. With rousing numbers like "Don't Be Late ", "Endless Race" and "Eternal Force", "State Of Shock" was a clear improvement over the naive first release. Guitarist and band founder Dani Meseguer cites Accept, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Saxon as Hitten's musical sources of inspiration, as well as US metal legends Fifth Angel, Crimson Glory, Shok Paris and Metal Church. "We are very happy with how "State Of Shock" was recorded," explains Dani Meseguer. "We played some cool festivals, toured Europe and people even wanted to see us in Japan." Nevertheless, the time between "State Of Shock" and the brand new album "Twist Of Fate" also had a low blow for Hitten. In September 2017, singer Aitor performed his last performance for the band. Alexx Panza was immediately available as a replacement. Dani Meseguer: "Alexx is a godsend. It was just perfect timing for us." "We are more than happy with the final result of »Twist Of Fate«," continues Dani Meseguer. "From the cover artwork to the individual songs, the disc meets the highest quality standards. I firmly believe that fans will like "Twist Of Fate" even more than "State Of Shock". The mix (by Javi Félez) and mastering (Patrick W. Engel) are simply incredible. The record has everything a good metal album should have: crazy twin guitars, emotional solos, sharp screams, beautiful vocal harmonies and powerful background vocals. Alexx as a singer did a fantastic job. His vocal range is simply enormous. He is extremely confident in the low registers but on the other hand he also masters those high-pitched screams that we all love so much."
