Guitarist Steve Morse (Deep Purple, Dixie Dregs, Ex-Kansas), drummer Mike Portnoy (Winery Dogs, Ex-Dream Theatre, Transatlantic), keyboarder Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Ex-Spock's Beard), Bassist Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, ex-JoeSatriani) and vocalist and songwriter Casey McPherson (Alpha Rev, The Sea Within) have again merged their various talents into one big whole. The two main ingredients of this musical solution are the best of their craftsmanship and their progressive and musical skills. "ThirdDegree" is the third studio album of the Flying Colors in ten years. It is the sequel to the genre-overlapping self-titled debut from 2012 and "Second Nature" from 2014. The nine new tracks clearly show that the band has explored new frontiers - from the psychedelic-classical lead single "More", to the beach-boys-meets-sia vibe of "Love Letter", to the deeply emotional, prog-heavy "Crawl".
