The release of the album "Identity" proudly marks the band's 20th anniversary, as well as three previous releases that earned us widespread acclaim and the loyalty of our fans. Even after completing our last album, "Bring Out Your Dead," we knew the next era of Elysion had to be more active, extroverted, and connected to our audience--bigger and better than ever before.
"Identity" is not a concept album in the classic sense, yet--as always--it is defined by a consistent, distinctive atmosphere; this time, however, it is dedicated 100% to our fans. It preserves Elysion's signature musical style while significantly evolving it through a completely new approach. The album reflects who we are today--20 years after people first placed their trust in us--while also serving as a labor of love for the global hard rock community; we feel a strong bond among metal fans that goes far beyond mere musical taste. We view this fourth album as our most mature work to date--the result of intense effort and, at the same time, the boldest album we have ever released. It remains true to our roots while taking a decisive step forward; we hope both our loyal fans and new listeners will appreciate the result. We poured everything we had into making this album the best it could possibly be. That's why we jokingly say, "If you love Elysion, then 'Identity' is Elysion on steroids"--a phrase we use to emphasize the immense intensity of every single aspect of this album. The deeper message behind it is this: In a world that is constantly changing--often for the worse--we call upon all the friends who feel a connection to us to unite, based on the shared values that rock music has given us. We are convinced that listening closely to the album and its carefully crafted lyrics will convey this message--and do so more powerfully than any explanation we could offer. This is Elysion today; this is what we have experienced over the past 20-plus years; this is how we want to thank everyone who has remained loyal to us--this is our "Identity."
