Description

A celebration of joy, glory, pleasure and excess. As a special birthday present for the 25th band anniversary DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER have dared a unique musical experiment. An album, which was created without rehearsals and preparation in just two days. So the band gathered with some friends and technicians in their rehearsal room and decided to forget the world and everything around them for two days. The only thing that mattered was the here and now. An exploding star. Thus, on October 25 and 26, 2020, over 500 minutes of completely free improvised jam performances were recorded. In the aftermath, a good 80 minutes were selected from this raw material, which is now available in the form of the double CD/vinyl release "The Divine Horsemen".

The lush spheres from which the band has been able to draw musically for decades, has once again been expanded by further dimensions. A wild journey through echo chambers of fire and ice, thunderous north winds and meditative glory. Eruptions, barely longer than a minute go hand in hand with pulsating, expansive pieces that break the 10 minute mark. In addition to the quintet's obligatory instruments, numerous effects units, didgeridoo, jew's harp, djembe, doumbek, rig, gong, bongos and frame drums were also set up in the rehearsal room. The multilingual singing serves here, completely in the sense of the music, a journey through the world, time and cultures.

In the spirit of these unique, never reproducible sessions, the physical formats will also be available only once as a strictly limited double LP including an elaborately designed 32-page LP booklet as well as a limited 2CD including a 36-page booklet.
