Crashdiet Automaton

Crashdïet, the glam rock/sleaze rock high-flyer band, was formed in Stockholm in 2000 and crashed into the new millennium with full throttle and excess. Named after an unreleased Guns N' Roses song, and inspired by Skid Row, Guns N' Roses, Kiss, W.A.S.P., Cinderella, Ratt or GG Allin. Martin Sweet and Peter London refer to the rawer work of the 1980s and lament that later "everything became polished" and "way too poppy". Crashdïet released their critically acclaimed debut album "Rest in Sleaze" in 2005 , which brought them great success in their native Sweden and abroad. However, the increasing success brought the first blow to the group, their frontman Dave Lepard was found dead in his home, the result of a tragic suicide in January 2006, and during a Saxon concert in Nottingham in April 2013, Michael Sundén, Crashdïet's manager, suffered such severe head injuries in a fall that he died a short time later. With a career littered with abuse, tragic deaths and lineup changes, the band almost called it quits more than once, but the band has become known for picking themselves up and returning to the scene of the crime.... no matter what. The surviving and new band members have since carried the glam metal/sleaze rock torch, touring the world and releasing many acclaimed albums. Always true to their motto "Go big or stay home".
