2014, In August 2012, Circle II Circle, the band founded by Savatage's former lead vocalist Zak Stevens, performed at the world biggest and craziest heavy-metal festival, Wacken Open Air, in Germany and played one of Savatage's most successful albums, THE WAKE OF MAGELLAN, almost in its entirety. THE WAKE OF MAGELLAN, one of the last album of Zak Stevens recorded with Savatage, is considered to be the band's best work in the post-1993 Savatage canon by many. Narrated by Stevens' phenomenal voice and framed by deeply emotional and highly expressional compositions, the album can easily be described as a true rock opera.
