2016, THIS HOUSE IS NOT FOR SALE marks the group's first collection of new material since 2013's WHAT ABOUT NOW - and its first since the abrupt departure of guitarist Richie Sambora, who walked away during the tour in support of the record. With former Triumph guitarist Phil X stepping in, Bon Jovi recorded THIS HOUSE IS NOT FOR SALE with producer John Shanks, who's had a hand in each of the band's albums since 2005's HAVE A NICE DAY. As frontman Jon Bon Jovi explained earlier this year, the sessions made an attempt to return the group to its roots. ´We were recording at different times and different rooms in the studio. That's not happening anymore,` he vowed. ´We went back to the place where we cut ,,Runaway" in 1982 - where I used to sweep the floor and fetch coffee`. Interestingly, THIS HOUSE IS NOT FOR SALE finds Bon Jovi still under the Island Records Group umbrella - the same label they appeared to kiss off for good with the title track from their contract-fulfilling BURNING BRIDGES-LP.
