2009, her new album, The Promise, ends the unplanned four year gap since her last outing, Superbeautifulmonster, forced upon her after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. And even though it's tempting to award her sympathy points for having written and recorded the album while undergoing treatment, they're not required.
