Vocalist Austin Dickinson (son of Iron Maiden-Fronter Bruce Dickinson) has long been the focus of derision from trolls because his dad happens to be a certain frontman in Iron Maiden, but it only makes his band's debut an even bolder step because, at its heart, SELFISH AGE is an unabashed pop-rock record, albeit one towards the heavier end of the spectrum. SELFISH AGE is a collective chorus of layered vocals. When one voice melts into the spiraling instrumentals, another hoists the lyrics into audio bliss. ,,The Suffering" holds spinning guitar and twirling harmonies. ,,Bury The Dead" and ,,World On Fire" are piano opening passions that peel a hard shells away and expose vulnerability.
