Amon Amarth The Allfather Awakens

With *The Allfather Awakens*, Amon Amarth have created a definitive ten-song masterpiece that further cements the band's legacy--defined by spectacular, memorable riffs and unwavering sonic power. The opening track of *The Allfather Awakens*, the epic narrative "Gjallarhorn," is followed by the heroic battle tale "Eight Legs of Thunder," while "Upphaf"--a translated stanza from the prophetic poem *Völuspá*--marks the band's first-ever acoustic track. The legendary Swedish melodic death metallers adopted a new songwriting approach for *The Allfather Awakens*, the band's 13th album since 1998's *Once Sent from the Golden Hall*. *The Allfather Awakens* was created over two recording sessions, spaced several months apart, at producer Jacob Hansen's studio in Denmark. Amon Amarth began writing the songs while still on tour, rather than waiting for the tour to end. The first session took place in the spring of 2025, and final recording was completed in March 2026.
