Description
"Modern metal breakthrough artists AD INFINITUM will release their new album Abyss on October 11, 2024 via Napalm Records. Since their debut in 2020, the band with members from Germany and Switzerland has gained a steadily increasing number of fans and has developed and refined their style with each release. While AD INFINITUM could be attributed more to symphonic metal at the beginning of their career, Abyss consistently follows the path that was already hinted at on Chapter III - Downfall (2023) and reveals new, exciting facets. Without question, Abyss is the most modern and progressive album in the band's still young history to date. The new record is full of fast riffs, rhythmic choruses and pointed breakdowns that are perfectly matched to the unmistakable and versatile voice of singer Melissa Bonny. AD INFINITUM are Melissa Bonny (vocals), Adrian Thessenvitz (guitars), Korbinian Benedict (bass) and Niklas Müller (Drums).
Abyss begins with the hypnotic "My Halo", which immediately reveals the first catchy chorus. Melissa Bonny's interplay between gentle vocals and heavy growls provides the perfect transition to "Follow me Down", in which razor-sharp riffs demonstrate the technical, instrumental adeptness. The previously released single "Outer Space" takes you to galactic spheres and paves the way for the powerful "Aftermath", which reflects AD INFINITUM's experimental side. With "Euphoria", the quartet takes a trip into pop-inflected realms and, paired with gripping alternative metal, delivers another epic highlight of the album. "The one you'll hold on to"" and "Parasite" are faster and more direct with powerful riffs and an incredible vocal performance that still leaves room for instrumental highlights. With "Dead End", AD INFINITUM call for a gripping finale that concludes the musical journey with enormous power. Abyss is in tune with the times, is full of musical diversity and symbolizes a sonic change that exudes absolute authenticity at every second.
With their previous releases, AD INFINITUM have reached millions of fans worldwide - in addition to impressive streaming figures, this is evidenced by more than 4.2 million video views for the hit single "Unstoppable" and more than 3.5 million views for "Marching on Versailles". In January 2024, AD INFINITUM accompanied symphonic metal greats Kamelot and heavy metal veterans Hammerfall on a major US tour - an absolute highlight for the up-and-coming formation. As a popular guest singer for bands such as Kamelot, Feuerschwanz and dArtagnan, frontwoman Melissa Bonny regularly demonstrates her enormous potential outside of AD INFINITUM. In October 2024, the band will be on tour in Europe as support for Kamelot, just in time for the album release. After the release of Abyss, the joint tour with Eluveitie and Infected Rain will start in early 2024."
