The Living End are regarded as one of the wildest live bands in Australia. They regularly appear as headliners at nationwide festivals. Also internationally the band tours mercilessly and plays about 120 concerts per year. It's not for nothing that the deserved reputation as one of Australia's biggest live bands precedes them. At the ARIA Music Awards, the Australian counterpart to the Grammys, they have already been nominated an incredible 27 times and have been able to take home six of the coveted trophies. In 2009 they won the APRA Award (similar to the Ivor Novello Award) for the "Song Of The Year".
The Living End consider themselves a rock'n'roll band with punk ethics. They include The Clash, Iggy Pop, The Who and The Jam among their influences. They share the same ideals with them and have hidden a social statement in each of their songs. Not for nothing they are also benevolently compared to the 1990s punk revival band Rancid.
In February 2018 The Living End left for Germany to record their eighth studio album "Wunderbar". It will be released in September this year. In August the trio plays a mix of festivals and headliner shows across the continent.
