The last album "Getaway" of the US-Americans was released more than six years ago.

The new release is the eleventh studio album of the band around frontman Anthony Kiedis.

But it is also the first joint album with former band guitarist John Frusciante since 2006, who returned to the band three years ago.

During the current recording sessions, the band is not trying to reproduce the sound familiar from RHCP classics like "Blood Sugar Sex Magik" and "Californication," drummer Chad Smith asserts, "John hasn't been in our group for 10 years; that's a long time. It sounds like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but it's different and new, and I think that's great."
