Description

Pat Todd is on Hound Gawd with a new Rankoutsiders Rock'n'Roll opus! Records back. The album titled "The Past Came Callin'". For two decades, Pat Todd was the singer of the Lazy Cowgirls and the institution of Garage Rock'n'Roll from California. In 2005, however, he sent the cowgirls to the eternal hunting grounds to start afresh with a new band. But once you look the devil in the eye, you can't get rid of him that quickly. So you can clearly hear the sweaty high-energy rock'n'roll sound of the Lazy Cowgirls in the Rankoutsiders. The mixture of rough Rock'n'Roll footstompers and quiet, balladesque and country-like songs is musically influenced by Chuck Berry, Hank Williams, the Rolling Stones or former US-Punkrock à la Johnny Thunders. Pat Todd's songwriting is a map that leads back to the desire to get to know his true being, existential longings reside in the aesthetics of self-realization. One calls it art, the other blues, soul, country, rock'n'roll. Many musicians only talk about passion and commitment. For Pat Todd, it's like the air to survive, and he's not afraid to reveal his most intimate and painful secrets in these 14 songs. The rankoutsiders are Pat Todd on acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocals, Nick Alexander on electric guitar and acoustic guitar, Kevin Keller on electric guitar and vocals on "The Ring, The Bottle & The Gun", Steven Vigh on bass and drummer Walter Phelan. "The Past Came Callin'" was recorded and produced by former Sparks guitarist Earle Mankey (The Cramps, Concrete Blonde, The Beach Boys, Possum Dixon). "Pat Todd is the most sincere Rock'n'Roll singer/songwriter on the planet. He makes the rest of us look like a bunch of fakers," enthuses Blaine Cartwright about Nashville Pussy.
