Also in 2018 the German metal institution WOLFEN can be expected! And there are great news...
The line up is now complete again. After drummer Holger Bloempott and long-term guitarist Björn Grüne left the band for family and private reasons, interim drummer Siegfried Grütz is now a permanent member of the band, who had already caused a sensation in the 80s with Brainfever, among others. In the position of the second guitarist, the band succeeded in making another stroke of luck. Thus one could engage Andreas Doetsch, who is already known as "Andy the wicked" not only in the Rhineland scene and could already prove his abilities as a guitarist in various bands like Steelpreacher.
After touring the album "Evilution" extensively with more than 50 concerts (including a European tour with Grave Digger) in 2014-2016, it became a little quieter around the band in 2017. They only played a few selected gigs, which of course was due to the training of the new band members. With the new members the band 2018 shows itself in its most mature form! Listen to the new longplayer "Rise Of The Lycans" (released June 2018 / Pure Steel Records)!
This album represents number six in the band's career and includes all typical WOLFEN trademarks and much more. The new disc is much more powerful than the previous albums. Here one can really speak of melodic power metal with thrash influences. Furthermore, this time a 4-song utopian concept story has been written. The songs are peppered with be
knows succinct vocals, the extremely powerful rhythm fraction and the sprawling guitar work, which have always occupied a large place in the sound of the band! After the "Comeback-Album" "Chapter IV" and the successor "Evilution" gave the quintet a new impetus, also due to the excellent feedback from the online press, a continuation was the only logical and correct way! The result is probably the current highlight in the creative phase and brings all facets of the band to the point! All garnished with the fat production of Martin Buchwalter in the Gernhart Studios! Also at the risk that it sounds trite: The band sounds better than ever before!
All the more reason why everyone is full of fresh energy and hungry to start live again in summer 2018.
