TIME Magazine described Garbage's second studio album, Version 2.0, as "dark and sexual, yet vivid and introspective." Released in 1998, the album was billed as a bold evolution of their self-titled debut and sold over four million copies worldwide, matching the success of its predecessor. Formed in 1993, the band Garbage , consisting of members Duke Erikson , Steve Marker, Butch Vig and Shirley Manson , has sold over 17 million albums worldwide in its 28-year career.

The album is now re-released remastered as 2LP 180g gatefold and 2CD digipack.
