Tommy Bolin is absolutely one of the guitar heroes of the seventies. He replaced Joe Walsh in the James Gang, replaced Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple, and was a guest member on Billy Cobham's solo debut album 'Spectrum'. Tommy Bolin is not only a powerhouse guitarist but is also blessed with a great voice. 'Private Eyes' is Bolan's second and last album recorded less than half a year before his death at age 25 while promoting this album as support act from Jeff Beck. One of the albums highlights is no doubt the over nine minutes track "Post Toastee". 'Private Eyes' is a classic on the same level as his previous solo album 'Teaser'.
