Description
The Soul Exchange are a band that combines classic hard rock with a contemporary metal sound. With some influences of the 70's hardrock scene, they have their very own his own sound metal style, which draws its power from guitar-oriented hard rock with a focus on great melodies and outstanding vocal lines. The lyrics deal mainly with the dark sides of life such as insanity and evil in many ways.
The founding of The Soul Exchange dates back to 2013, when guitarist Hans von Bell began writing songs for a solo album. After the publication of this work in January 2015, they immediately started working on new material on which he preferred to work with a real band and which should sound a little different. The Soul Exchange were born; and the band name is also the name of a song from Hans' solo work.
In 2016, the line-up with which The Soul Exchange is still active today was last completed. It consists of Daniel John (vocals & keyboards), Hans von Bell (guitar), Thomas von Bell (guitar), Patrik "Patte" Ekelöf on bass and Benny White (drums). Even though most of the musicians appear to be unknown to the public, they all have many years of experience in the music business. The Soul Exchange also released their first studio album "Bloodbound" in March 2017 and their EP "Vow Of Seth" in December 2017.
Meanwhile the Swedish formation together with producer Magnus Ljungqvist has finished the second album "Edge Of Sanity", which will be released on 15.06.2018. This is not purely a conceptual work, although all texts have a common theme: the dark and the metaphorical of the human psyche.
"Edge Of Sanity" is harder and darker than anything The Soul Exchange have recorded so far.
The trademarks of the bands, the vocal lines and choruses are still dominant - and even fatter than before.
