2011, In October 2009, Preacher, former guitarist of the first legendary Running Wild Line-Up, and Guido Krämer, met again at the Swordbrothers Festival in Guidos hometown Andernach, Germany. Guido was the singer of the The Company in the 90's and the first years of the new century, where he made three CDs which were a big success in Japan, Netherlands and France. Preacher saw some of their shows in the 90's... and soon became a friend of the band. After their reunion they met again at Guidos home. Soon they noticed that they were on the same wavelength and they decided to form The Gate: Playing Metal to play Metal with their tradition and in their true beliefs!
