The new album of the Australian progressive metal band Teramaze "Are We Soldiers" presents itself as a brilliantly presented total work of art with excellent songwriting and everything that makes first-class Progmetal: a finely balanced mix of feeling and hardness, grandiose riffing and great melodies, refined tempo changes, enormous force as well as here and there fine intermediate tones for a short breath of fresh air. The chief thinker of Teramaze, Dean Wells, categorizes the new album as Metal with big pop choruses. A trace airier and lighter than "Her Halo", he says. "Almost without exception with a good groove, because it's just fun for me". Teramaze are planning a European tour for the second half of the year. A tip for all fans of Dream Theater, Shadow Gallery, Symphony X, Kamelot or Nightwish.
