Description

2015, Rebellion was founded in 2001 by Tomi Göttlich (bass) and Uwe Lulis (guitar) after their split from Grave Digger. The band's debut album SHAKESPEARE'S MACBETH - A TRAGEDY IN STEEL was released in 2002. It impressively combined metal hymns and passages from Shakespeare's original text, which led to outstanding reviews and a cult status that still is going strong today. Rebellion went on an extensive headliner tour in Germany and its adjoining countries in 2012 and 2013. The new line-up was accepted and celebrated by the band's fans. Rebellion started working on new songs in 2014, but still managed to play selected festival shows. The album recordings started in November 2014. The latest album and ARMINIUS - FUROR TEURONICUS have one thing in common - they are about the history of the Teutons. THE HISTORY OF THE SAXONS deals with the origins and evolution of the Saxons until the subjection under Frankish rule and religion in the 9th century.
