Tasteful prog rockers who have heard the name Spock's Beard before should also be able to do something with singer Ted Leonard, drummer Jimmy Keegan, bassist Dave Meros and songwriter/keyboarder John Boegehold, who now as PATTERN-SEEKING ANIMALS realize Boegehold's compositional visions in particular. Less than a year after their self-titled debut, album number two called "Prehensile Tales" follows, which not only features a fascinating, playful but always irresistibly catchy mixture of proggy, rock and pop music. Crowned by great vocal melodies and a fantastic sound of Rich Mouser, you can believe bass player Dave Meros when he says that he liked the debut, but on "Prehensile Tales" everything came together better and more conclusively. "We had more of a wild time with the instrumentation," he agrees with producer and main songwriter John Boegehold. "By using violin, flute, trumpet, cello, saxophone and pedal steel, we have significantly increased our musical footprint!" On 15.5. you can see for yourself, because "Prehensile Tales" will be released as Limited CD Digipak.
