P.O.D. The Awakening

2015, P.O.D. are the multi-platinum Southern California alternative metal band. THE AWAKENING is the band's ninth studio album and is a triumphant return to form for the band that harks back to the hugely anthemic global smash hit album SATELLITE (2001). Every song on the record is like a piece of a story. There are characters and a theme through the songs. ,,This Goes Out To You" is kind of a dedication to the fans over the years. The band's name derives itself from the banking term ´Payable On Death`. The band chose this name to be a direct tie in with the Christian theology that explains that since Jesus died on the Cross, Christians' debts to God have been paid for; in other words all believers, in their acceptance that Jesus was sacrificed for them on God's behalf, have inherited eternal life with no strings attached. P.O.D. 's style has evolved over the years, from the rap metalsound on their early albums to the nu metal and reggae-infused alternative metal styles for which they're most well known.
