Motorpsycho Yay!

Compared to its predecessor, the brand-new 10-track album focuses on melodies again and reduces music to a tangible and digestible size like it hasn't been for a long time. This is already made clear by the first single 'Patterns', which is already available digitally. The Norwegian band has always been about the balance between hard and soft, electric and acoustic, big and small, light and shadow ... and now the time was ripe for a lighter touch, also to keep the balance to the somewhat bulky, progressive predecessor. 'Yay!" was produced by Reine Fiske and Lars Fredrik Swahn (Dungen, Melody's Echo Chamber) and their production work gives the album a sweet psychedelic feel with an electrifying atmosphere that lifts it out of the often somewhat staid singer/songwriter genre while still maintaining its intimacy. Even though the album keeps drawing inspiration from the heroes of the late '60s and early '70s, it leaves four spaces to explore for those listeners who have heard more of the heavy progressive side of the band.
