Description

The instrumental psych rock masters of MONKEY3 are ringing in 2024 with an absolute album highlight of the new year. After Live at Freak Valley in 2017 and their last album Sphere (2019), the four-piece from Lausanne return on February 23, 2024 with their latest, cosmic studio work, Welcome To The Machine, via Napalm Records.

Man vs. Machine, spaceships take off into space, Welcome To The Machine is inspired by films like 2001: A Space Oddissey, Matrix, Sunshine, Solaris or 1984, and even with the first notes it sounds like the perfect soundtrack for a journey into the unknown . Songs like the first, official album single "Rackman" impressively show why MONKEY3, which was founded in 2001, is one of the few instrumental bands that knows how to tell an exciting story despite the lack of vocals. In the case of the track mentioned, about an artificial intelligence of which we are slaves. Welcome To The Machine explores and questions, it is dark, threatening and melancholic, at the same time full of hope and destruction. MONKEY3 move between dark and rousing spheres, through to progressive breaks, hypnotizing grooves and big riffs, this is particularly clearly underlined in songs like "Collision". While the song is about awareness of reality and the destruction of an artificial machine system, MONKEY3 shine with a long, cosmic intro that breaks out into a majestic, psychedelic epic!

Once again, MONKEY3 will envelop album listeners and audiences in their unique, cosmic smoke, such as at upcoming live performances such as Desertfest Berlin 2024 and many other spectacular shows. Welcome To The Machine is not only the seventh studio album in their impressive band's history, which also captures the zeitgeist as their most epic, darkest and most captivating work to date, but also proves more than clearly why MONKEY3 is one of the most exciting instrumental rock bands in the world modern stoner and psychedelic rock scene!"
