Matos, Andre The Turn Of The Lights

2012, Andre Matos? Hm, that name rings a bell somewhere... In the 90s, the exceptional singer was the front man of Viper, and, a bit later, of Angra, two bands quite well-known even beyond the borders of their native Brazil. Since 2007, after the short-lived Shaman thing, Andre Matos flies solo; THE TURN OF THE LIGHTS is his third release. And of course Andre's voice reminds you of his stints with Viper and Angra. Matos knows exactly what he can and what he likes: stylistically, the new compositions of the exceptional vocal artist follow good, old Melodic Metal-paths. That, of course, brings in some quite fast and powerful passages which massively increases the entertainment factor of the album. Furthermore, the listener gets some graceful ballad-like sounds, too, greatly celebrated by the golden throat of Andre with unmistakable, charismatic elegance. Pure pleasure!
