There are of course complex rhythms and changes of themes, trade-mark of the Gardner brothers, and they find their climax in the 18 minute long "Cranium Reef Suite". But handy melodies have sneaked in those compositions and they once again give the Magellanian cosmos of sound completely new impetus. So where does this impetus come from? "My intention was and is to write what I feel", replies Trent Gardner. "Musicians just do what they do. Believe me, they know nothing about that even when they claim they do. How songs come into being is a mystery, and it will be that way forever." Wonderful closing words for an ambitious band which once again proves that we have to reckon with.
