2015, It seems like the biography of Macbeth, formed in 1985 in Erfurt (Germany), was written by the English poet and playwright William Shakespeare himself. Both glory and tragedy can be found in the history of the band, just like in Shakespeare's drama MACBETH. In the early 80's, Macbeth were one of the first metal bands in the former GDR and toured like crazy. Hundreds of fans, who followed them, were soon a problem for the GDR authorities, which led to massive problems. In the fall of 1986, a show of the band in the overcrowded ´Stadtgarten` in Erfurt was monitored by the police and Stasi and the band was eventually banned in the whole GDR. Just in time for the band's 30th anniversary, Macbeth release the 4th studio album IMPERIUM in 2015. It was once again co-produced by Patrick W. Engel and Ralf Klein once more proves his excellent songwriting skills. IMPERIUM is the logical continuation of Macbeth's unique musical style!
